Celeste
Whitaker is the managing
member of Fizz Marketing. With
a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management
from Wits Business School and
extensive experience in event
management, she knows exactly
what is needed to produce a successful
event.
Celeste began her career in the
event industry in 1991, starting
out as the office administrator
of Computer Faire, South Africa’s
largest Information and Technology
exhibition. In 1994 she was promoted
to services assistant for all
exhibitions within the TML Reed
portfolio. Two years later she
was appointed marketing services
manager at TML Reed, making her
responsible for corporate marketing
and all marketing initiatives
relating to exhibitions. In 1997,
she was promoted to operations
manager of Computer Faire and
was then appointed general manager
of the Gauteng, Cape and KwaZulu-Natal
event management where she continued
to work for another three years.
In August 2000, Celeste started
her own event management company
to harness the experience she’d
built up over the years and to
offer clients a specialist service. |

Yvette
Jacobs joined Fizz
Marketing in 2004 and brings her
exceptional organisational skills
to the company.
Previously, Yvette managed the
Mpumalanga Stuttaford Van Lines
sales office for four years, she
then managed her own retail business
and subsequently returned to Stuttaford
Van Lines in Pretoria and achieved
top sales person for 3 consecutive
years. |

Thabile
Mdletshe joined Fizz Marketing
in May 2006 and has added her
strong event co-ordination skills
to our team. Thabile obtained
her Hotel Management Diploma at
Cape Technikon Hotel School and
worked at a number of South Africa’s
leading hotels in various positions,
including banqueting coordinator
at The Westcliff Hotel.
Thabile recently completed a programme
in Conference, Exhibition and
Event Management at Damelin and
has obtained her Certificate in
Conference, Exhibition and Event
Management. The Programme covered
the following:
• Events, meetings and conference
planning
• Selection, evaluation
and dealing with venues
• Researching an industry
and developing programmes
• Selection and briefing
of chairpersons, speakers and
MC’s
• Preparation of event budgets
• Presentation skills and
the use of relevant equipment
• Planning of exhibitions
• Assisting exhibitors to
successfully participate in exhibitions
• Risk management |

Mariette
Oosthuizen obtained a Post-graduate
degree in Tourism Management from
the North West University in 2006.
She has worked in hotels and guest
houses all over South Africa.
Most recently, Mariette managed
a 4 star Guest House in Mpumalanga.
Mariette has always had a desire
to enter the world of marketing
and events and we are pleased
that she has joined the Fizz Marketing
team as a trainee event coordinator. |

| Mary
Van der Merwe joined Fizz
Marketing in March 2008. Prior
to joining, Mary ran a family
business in Zimbabwe for twelve
years. Mary relocated to South
Africa in 2003 when she joined
Exhibitions for Africa as a Creditors
Clerk. In 2006 Mary was promoted
to Accountant and she held that
position until February 2008. |
